1. Write Something Every Day!
This is – of course – easier to say than to do, but it's worth it!
Maybe the ideas that convinced you on Monday will
leave you cold on Friday. Perhaps you'll throw a lot of it away.
Then again, shuffle the pages around on your desk for a while and they
might just start to form that elusive picture,
the one you dream of, that you can see behind your eyes.
You see, there is no alternative to getting the thing down on paper or on screen. You can't – or very, very rarely – sell an idea. You certainly would find it hard to copyright one.
Sometimes I find on a ridiculously busy day of interviews and, well,
just life, I stand at my keyboard and type for
just 5 minutes. It means I haven't let it go, I haven't let my momentum
desert me.
